Our Top 5 Beachy Happy Hours!

When people imagine life in the Caribbean, they fantasize about being on a white, sandy beach without a care in the world. There is music, laughter, and excitement in the salty air. People have their toes in the sand and a cocktail in hand while enjoying the pink, orange sunset hitting the calm sea. That sounds like a dream, but in Curaçao, it is our reality and a weekly occurrence. To get the full island experience, you have to go to at least one of the below happy hours! Most beach clubs and bars offer daily happy hour deals around 5 p.m., meaning discounted drinks for a limited time.

Here are some of the most popular beachy happy hours on the island—a different spot each day.

Thursdays - Scuba Lodge

Every Thursday night, Punda & Pietermaai turn into quite the party: Punda Vibes. And you are invited! Start the night off, by walking on over from Boho Bohemian Boutique Hotel to Scuba Lodge for a refreshing sundowner.  Watch the fireworks at 8.15 p.m. from Cascada Rooftop Bar followed by a delicious tapas dinner at Oliva restaurant. Afterward, it’s time to discover the bar scene in Pietermaai in all its glory!

From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Fridays - Mambo beach

On Fridays, Mambo is the place to be. There are multiple beach shacks and bars next to each other, which makes for the perfect bar-hopping experience.

Start your happy hour at Chill and then move to Rilèks, Bonita, Madero, and then you can end the night at Wet & Wild. Each bar has a different vibe and attracts the crowds at different times throughout the evening. The excitement may start during happy hour but it ends long after. The great thing about Mambo is that there are plenty of restaurants around if you want a bite to eat.

Chill from
5 p.m. to 6 p.m., Rilèks from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., Bonita Beach Club from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., Wet & Wild beach club starting from 5 p.m. and Madero beach club starting from 6 p.m.

Fridays - Blue Bay

If you are looking for something a little less busy, but still lively and fun, then Blue Bay’s the spot for you! With live music starting from 6 p.m., this is definitely a great alternative to Mambo and one fit for the entire family (it is child-friendlier than the happy hours at Mambo).

From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Saturdays - Jan Thiel beach

On Saturdays, Jan Thiel Beach is where it’s at. Attracting a slightly younger crowd, Jan Thiel’s Zanzibar gets very busy. What can you expect? The earlier you come, the more relaxed the vibe. After happy hour, the live music starts and Zanzibar quickly turns into a club. Here too, there are some great restaurants in the area if you need a break from dancing or some fuel for the rest of the night. If you prefer something a bit more mellow, Zest or Papagayo Beach Club may be more for you—just a few steps away.

From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Sundays - Wet & Wild

Wet & wild has claimed Sundays for years! The music, drinks & island vibes, make this the preferred place for both locals and tourists. Spend the last day of the weekend on the beach and end it with a bang.

Starting from 5 p.m.
